Ok, so i've been reading all the posts hear, and I'm trying not to create a repeat (That is extremely annoying and I understand) but I cant find the answer to this question...Ok, so at first i See about 10-15 eggs layed from my Pink and Striped convict. 3 days later, I only see 2 wigglers, the other eggs were gone...another 2 later, the 2 wigglers are gone, and the bonding couple are not as aggressive and are not tending to a certain location in the tank. So obviously I'm assuming that the frey have been eaten. It is their first spawning and I have been told that this normally happens. However, when the wigglers were there, the father was very aggressive, does he just change his mind and say "screw it", I'll eat em...I dont understand, how could he care so much about the wigglers, then just eat them. Or they could be hiding somewhere as well...

Any help would be great boys and girls.
thanks.

it seems like it would be odd if only two werent eaten in the begining.. cuz if they eat their eggs they normally eat all of them.. well thats what i think anyway.. im not completly sure.. but the parents could have moved the ones that did hatch... or they just ate them... cuz to me it just seems strange that they left two eggs to hatch and ate the others... i dunno its confusing me lol.. but convicts breed often once there is an established pair.. so wait a few weeks and the second batch might work out better =) or u could have some of my baby convicts lol but they arent free swimmers just yet

ha, no thanks for hte convicts, im sure ill have too much to handle. I dont think that they moved the wigglers, because they are not watching over a certain area or picking anything up and moving it. they are just chilin and lookin for food. Doesnt look like they are babysitting so to speak. Will have to wait for second batch.
thanks

yeah, they are gone

Activity is back to normal, swimming, eating, no "fanning" or aggressive behavior in certain areas...They are not staying in one place like they were when she was fanning the eggs. They are gone like donuts in a police station...there's always a next time.
