Hey guys. Got a question for you all, hopeing someone out there might be able to help me.
Ok I got these 2 cons right. They have had 2 broods in a 10 gallon. And I have just moved them into a 20 gallon Long.
As dose happen sometimes, the male has decided he wantes to beat on his mate, and has torn her up pretty well. Shes hideing under a rock he cant get under right now. And will be ok if she stays there.
I had gotten some serpae tetras (6) as the cookiecutter said. Which I just added. This has calmed him a bit. Mostly because they are small and fast and as long as they stay on there side and out of his way he dosent mess with them too much. Though he comes over and looks at them like he wants them dead. But I think he has given up on that Idea for the most part. He was chargeing through the ranks but I think that was getting him nowhere.
Hes sitting on the other side of the tank now with the brood all rounded up and is takeing care of them.
My question is, what should I do. will he lay off of the female now that there is more fish to spread his aggression on. Should I take him out to the other tank,
I had confined him in a time out net for 24 hours but that didnt change anything.
Hes being a really good father and takeing care of the fry. While the female just let the fry do whatever and was kind of indiffrent to them, He pays alot of attention.
The thing is Ill turn around and the roles will be reversed. The male will have his tail messed up and hideing in the corner.......
I Like these fish. I just dont understand why they do what they do.... Any advice would be welcome.
