what corals can live in low lighting and are good for beginners besides mushroom corals? thanks!

ok let me list them. once you have a flourecent light (preferably a power compact light or a T-5 light) you can have these corals:

Zoathids
Palythoa
Green Star Polyps
Pulsing Xenia
Ricrodea Florida

those are some of the most popular corals due to their low-light nature. you should at least have 1wpg though.

as a beginner you should start with Zoas or palys along with mushrooms. after you are able to keep your tank stable you could probably go as far as Acan and Blastomussa coral in terms of staying low-light.

i would shoot more toward 4 watts per gallon minimum even for softies... the regular light that came with the tank isnt going to be enough to keep any corals... before i recomend any corals first tell us what type of lighting you have!
