coraline Q.

i have a question regarding coraline growth... coraline dosent seem to be growing on my rocks, except for the one rock that i bought with it already on the rock

but the strange thing is its growing on my heater, power heads, and even on snail shells but not on the rock... why is that

btw the tank has been set up for some time now, snails that had nothing but clean shells when dropped into the tank, when it was starting out and even some that were introduced when it was established are covered in the stuff

be patiant..if its on your heater id have to say your doing something right and it will soon follow on your rocks

how do you stop coraline from getting onto other things? just clean it?

pretty much impossible...
when a powerhead is jammed with coralline, you take it out and scrub it, but since it's an encrusting algae that goes with the flow, the powerheads are their favorite victims.

then have no fear it will show up on it......it takes a while longer than it does on everything else but it does.....

yea that's kinda how mine has started it was the heater ph and filter and then the glass around the ph heater and filter and now it's starting all over the rocks. So i must say just wait awhile and it'll show up.

coral line loves growing on plastic...sometimes glass too...it gets to a point where i kills your heater and powerheads...its scrubing time.

its not growing on your rocks because that takes time 6 months to a year to see good results.
mines growing back nicely. cant w8 to get some nice travertine rocks. i'll just carve the names of people i love
