i have a coner filter in my 10g tank, with floss. do i ever need to change the floss? the filter only has floss. and since it has to do wiht the 10g is 6 plaites to much for a 10g?
What I do (with an established tank) is take the bottom 4th of the floss out and pitch it during a water change. Then I add an equal amount of fresh floss to the top. This prevents undisolved organics from polluting your tank as well as harboring the beneficial bacteria.
