Hello,
Yesterday I bought a panda cory (yes i will get more) for $8.99 (yikes, that's why I only got 1). If you look at a google images picture of a panda cory, you can see that a typical one has a black patch on its eye and on the base of its tail. However, my cory has a black patch on its dorsal fin and a black streak that curves downwards and connects the dorsal patch with the base-of-tail patch. He has it on both sides and the pattern looks like a V when viewed from the top. Is tgis a totally different species of cory? Thanks!

Yes, it's most likely a Skunk Cory. Don't you hate it when fish stores sell fish under the wrong name? It's ok for the price though. My lfs sells Glo-Fish fro $10 each. It's buy 3, get 1 free. Who in their right minds wants to spend $30 on 4 small fish!?!?

Sorry, that's not the one. My cory looks like kind of a mix between panda and skunk. It has the black vertical line running down its eye like a panda cory. There's a black line like the skunk cory, except it starts from the dorsal fin (the fin on top of the cory) and ends at the base of the tail. There's no black line between the eye and the dorsal fin. Sorry, I can't take a picture right now.

Hmm, idk if it could be a hybrid. But have you noticed that not all fishes' markings are to the book. It might be a Panda or Skunk Cory with a few extra markings. Possibility??

I have spent over $50.00 on a single fish less then an inch long before. I guess I was in my LEFT mind though LOL.
