Ok, got a pack of 4 panda corys last weekend and they are great. I think they are now my favorite fish. 3 stay together all of the time and the 4th wanders off on his/her(?) own frequently.

I think my next tank may just be a cory only tank. Is that even realistic? Do you really need any other fish in there with them?

Nope...dont think you need other fish in there with them. They're fun and interesting little guys :)

Might get boring if they're all hiding all the time...I would be inclined to put a couple of fish in there that swim near the mid/top of the tank...but you definitely wouldn't have to :)

Pandas are SO cute :)

Well, I just get a kick out of them. They are usually very busy but then they will just stop and rest(?) a while before continuing on their path.

My kids really adore them. Oddly, the only time they hide is when I feed. I put food in and they are no where to be found. When I go away, they come out again.

I think they stop to rest cos either they really are just resting, or 'chewing' on some food (mine seem to only stop for the latter)
I'd definitely go for a mostly-cory only tank, although a couple of fish eg guppies will add colour and movement to the upper tank, and may help the corys to be less shy. Having their own tank will let you play with water levels and temp to simulate their spawning season, but check which corys are breedable in captivity....I know that Paleatus (peppered cory) is meant to be easiest, but not sure about Pandas......
If you do go for the cory tank, will you use sand? They love snuffling through it and digging for food!
