Last night, after I finished my homework, I went to feed my fish, and turn their lights off. To my horror, I could not seem to find Cosmo, my glassfish. I searched frantically until I saw him, laying still, held in place by the suction of the filter. He was removed this morning, and placed in one of my mom's little card board coffins. I took him outside, and buried him in my yard, behind the garden.
I have no clue how he died, but the possibilities are:
1. The water conditions were of too bad of quality.
2. He had an underlying disease which showed no symptoms until it was too late.
3. Skeezit, my algae eater, may have hit him broadside, causing damage to his swim bladder.
I miss little Cosmo dearly. Although he did not do very much, I will always miss the way he seemed to greet me as I entered the kitchen. I shall also miss the blank stare which I loved so much, and how he would always shoot through the water to his food, and eat it.
Truly one does not know what he has, until it's gone. Little Cosmo, rest in peace.
