Yeah, if memory serves, they give live birth.
( Learned most of what I know of sharks on Discovery Chanel) hehe

And that looks like decaying food. Even if you think they eat it all, some can still escape them and fall into a hole somewhere. Something has just stired them up and you just now saw them.

What kind of sharks are we talking about here?

Some sharks are live birthing, while other species lay an egg that has a leathery shell and is shaped squarish with a curly "string" off each corner. They almost resemble a purse with the strap cut. If my memory is correct, the theory is the string will curl around some form of structure and the egg will be secured and not bashed around in the surf. As for your pictures, I can't tell if they are eggs or not. I would monitor them and see if you get any development or growth for a week or two. If not, they aren't eggs.

Saltwater shark egg cases were often called Mermaids purses because of the resemblance.

If these are from the freshwater "sharks" like the rainbow or red-tailed shark then they could "possibly" be eggs but if they are eggs they look like fungus has started to get to them in which case they should be tossed.....
Cool if your sharks are breeding though!!!

A bit off topic but not by much. I just thought I'd share this with anyone who didnt know. When some sharks are carying live young in their stomachs, only one can be born so they each fight it out in the womb to be the one who gets out. I think that one of the sharks this would be is a lemon shark if im not mistaken. Good old animal planet. :D

I don't feed them pellets so it must be fugas. None the less we are taking them out of the water and changing it by 20%.. Right now I have a big time amonia problem that I can't seem to get rid of. I might end up having to buy another filter or change the water 100%..

Any help would be greatful
