I'm looking for ideas of groups of fish that get along for a new tank.  Could people post the different types of fish that work together in their tanks and also what size tanks they have?

Thanks

Eclipse system six (Six Gallon):

3 emerald green cory cats
3 black skirt tetras
1 long fin white skirt tetra (used to be a pair, one died)
1 green tiger barb (used to be 5, but the big one killed the
                          rest off)
1 rainbow shark (he's mean, chases everybody else around
even though he's half their size)

I would not reccomend this combination to anybody unless they had 20 gallons or more because rainbow sharks grow pretty big, and they can be just plain nasty. My tetras and cories used to all be dime size, but now they've gotten bigger, so I've got to take them back and exchange them. I'm gonna take the green tiger barb back too. He's not bothering anybody, but just one of them isn't a happy fish, and he's the one the rainbow picks on the most.  Probably going add five dime sized Pristillias or Roberti tetras, and three more really tiny emerald green or bronze cories and leave it at that. I'm tempted to put the rainbow shark in with my goldfish because I just don't want to give him up, but I know you're not suppose to do that.

This is a great easy question. After some time in the hobby a good rule to go by is that almost all small common tetras will be good community fish. You can also add zebra danios, and dwarf gouramis. Corys are also another great idea.
*thumbsup2*
20 gallon:
6 cories
6 zebra danios
3 dwarf gouramis
4 platies

10 gallon:
6 zebra danios
6 neon tetras
3 platies

my tank is very overstocked, but I love the busy look, and most of my fish are still young, and about half the size of what they will be. Anyway, I have
1 Sunset Platy (had 2, but the male died)
1 Red Wag Swordtail (had 2, but one died)
1 Black Ballon Molly (to humor my mom)
1 YoYo Loach (to humor me)
2 Bronze Cories (to eat what my other fish miss)
1 Oto (to get my growing algea population into control)
1 Blue Gourami (still very young, only about 2")
2 Ghost Shrimp (to get what the others missed, and for a lite snack)
1 African Clawed Frog (Only about 1½" Spread out, very young)

This setup works great for me, I Have a 12 Gallon Eclipse, but I don't recommend trying it, wothout losing the frog, and the blue gourami. If your into frogs, go for the cousin of mine African Dwarf Frog. There fun.
