Covict looks like its makin a nest

My convict that i have in my 25 gallon tank seems to be diggin a hole in the pebbles on the bottom i was wondering if it was goin to lay eggs it doesnt have any other convicts in the tank can it just lay eggs without any babies in it or what else is it doing??

All convicts make nests. These are to hide the babies in once they hatch.

It could lay eggs without another in the tank but the won't hatch. The fish is following natural instinct.

u probably wont notice, my convicts laid eggs and had fry and i didnt notice until they were free swimming. but all convicts like to rearrange the rocks and stuff in the tank, i put a small rubberband in the tank for awhile, they like to pick it up and move it around places, its prety funny to watch.
