Cow

#1
Just a little while ago, one of my fish, Cow, died. She was pregnant, and she had been breathing hard all day, and not moving much, just hiding out in corners, and in decorations. A few minutes ago, she was in the front-right corner, then when I turned around, she wasn't there, I looked around, and there she was, caught in a plan by her tail, not moving.

I am really sad.

:( :( :( :( :(

Well, did her stomach have a squarish look to it? Thats a sign of pregnancy, but if its more rounded, she may have been bloated or had an internal disease. How old is your tank? Like how long has it been running?

Thats probably your problem. Your tank is still cycling, its normal to lose fish during the cycle. Yea, if she was bloated she could still poop, but the color would be white and stringy. DO you remember the color possibly?

Well, first you need to get a test kit, that covers ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH at least. Some tanks take longer to cycle than others, and some take less time. Just when you have 0 nitrite and 0 amminia, then your cycled. Generally, the cycle will take 1 month if you do nothing to delay it.

NP, everyone was new at some point. You can get a test kit at your local fish store, or possibly walmart. Now, a good one costs like $20, so if you dont have the money, start saving up because this is a good investment. Your LFS might be able to do it for free if you ask them, i know mine does.
