crack in tank!!!

I have a 4 inch hairline crack in my 46 gallon tank!!!!  It hasn't gone all the way thru the glass yet and i am going out tonite to get another tank i think cause i have oscars in there and i dont want them to die!!!  But, is there any way to fix my tank????

are you sure this is a crack? or just scratches, from cleaning or rocks etc?

if this really is a crack where is it?  is it at the bottom or top.  if it is at the top, lower the water level to relieve the pressure.  

what you can do to hold it is get a sheet of glass approx the size of the crack,  I'd recommend 6"x6" x the thickness of your aquarium glass and silicon it over the crack.  you dont have to use a lot of silicon, just enough to make a good bond.

Thats a good idea!! I need to get a bigger tank anyway. My O's will outgrow the 46 G in a few months anyway. I'm gonna go look at 55 gallon tanks in the morning. Mabey turn the 46 gallon into a kick-a$$ chamelion (sp??) tank!

I have no idea. I don't know how long its been there. You can feel the crack on the inside of the glass, but no on the outside. Oh well, Petco opens in 7 hours...

yeah, turn it in to a lizard home, ive got two a plated lizard and a lepord gecko, they rock.
