Guys,
please advise me how to change the glass on my 10g tank' cover.
This 10g is typical very c%%py topfin brand but i need it badly.
Today i had to move my pictus from this tank to my 29g tank. After that i spent hours catching 5 zebras danios to transport them into the 10g. At the end of the "adventure" i got idiotic and STEPPED on the damn cover! The glass cracked and some shards fell out. Uuuu? *SUNSMILE*

next time...

You can get glass pretty cheaply if you go to a glass shop... they'll look through their scraps and see if they can find something to cut down for you to fit.... My mom did this looking for mirrors to put along her fireplace and coffee tables to put candles on top of and she paid $5 for 3 perfect mirrors.... Its all about checking it out and asking... whats the harm... they might say NO :) oh well!!

but guess it doesn't hurt to go buy one with better lighting.... I've got a suggestion though... rather than throwing away the cover that has no glass... why not put a freebie ad in your local buy/sell/trade paper or on the many FREECYCLE websites there are out there....

http://www.freecycle.org/

Its all about keeping things out of peoples basements, and landfills, and in use :) Just a suggestion.... I posted an ad looking for a tank on my local freecycle board, and got a complete 20gallon setup with 2 heaters, aquaclear300, misc accessories, over $100 in suppplies, test kits, food etc... all for nothing... I just had to pick it up!! (and I put together a little thank you gift for her but that's just cause I was so happy! LOL)
