Cray - Eye regrowth?

I just introduced a common N. American Cray into my tank with cichlids yesterday (probably not the best addition, but i figured what the heck; it only set me back $2.50). He/She lost an eye & a back leg as of bed time. I think the fish have learned their lesson too. I've already researched & learned that most Crayfish will regrow legs after a couple of molts. My question is: Can they regrow their eyes?

I'm not sure about they eye regeneration.
You would need to google it and/or ask about it on a crayfish forum.

Leave the cray alone, but do like Fuzz says and get something for it to hide in ASAP. You'll have to simply wait until it moults to see what happens with the eye. The missing leg will grow back.

Also, oftentimes a higher pH goes hand-in-hand with harder water, which is generally a good thing when it comes to crays (because the minerals in the water help in aiding shell-regrowth).

See what happens after it moults...if it doesn't get eaten by then.

Cray - body regrowth.

So, I got another Cray from Petco yesterday. This poor little guy already had one claw missing but the other one is remarkebly HUGE (that's why I got him). I put him in the tank with the other one. BTW, the fish mind their own business now ;). Anyways, shortly after putting him in the tank, I noticed that there is a "sprout" where his missing claw/arm was. I noticed later on in the evening that the sprout was a bit bigger. So, is it safe to say that they start to regenerate their apendages even before molting?

Yes! Same thing happened with my blue male, 'Jericho' (avatar pic) when his claws grew back.

Jericho is BEAUTIFUL! Is he a blue lobster or cray, or are they one in the same? That is actually what I have been wanting. I saw one (Lobster) @ Petco almost a year ago & just couldn't afford the extra $20 at the time. Oh, I wanted him though! Every time I go back, the price tag is there but no Blue Beauty. Yesterday I noticed the tag for a Rainbow ($35) and, of course, no anthropod but I can imagine how GORGEOUS she would be.

Thanks Jim. :)
They are crayfish (freshwater), whereas lobsters are saltwater. Stores often label the blue crays as "blue lobsters" because it helps them sell better---plus, the importation of certain cray species is illegal in some states in an attempt to prevent introduction of undesirable species that would takeover and potentially eradicate the native cray populations (using the "lobster" terminology circumvents this 'legal nuisance' for the stores that sell em').

I'm actually trying to breed the blue cray in my avatar with another blue one that I have...I'd be happy to send you some if the 'breeding experiment' (http://www.myfishtank.net/forum/breeding/42633-jericho-jerricas-journey.html) is successful.

Can't really say. The pic was kinda small. From what I remember It kinda looked like a brown one w/ rainbow looking claws. I might be stopping back by there tomorrow. If I do, I'll take a closer look/get the species name. maybe they'll even have one in the tank this time...
