Crayfsh with african Cichlids?

I'm going to get a bunch of African Cichlids. Would I be able to put a crayfish in with them? They are pretty fast moving and they have a lot of caves to hide in, but I'm worried about water conditions, as the Cichlids have to have a really high PH and hardness. Would this not be sutable for the cray? I thought that the cobalt blue ones would be sweet to have in them.

I see problems, depending on what species of cichlids you have.

I agree with Dino.
Eventually your crayfish will:
A) get eaten when it moults
B) end up eating one or more of your cichlids.

the oscar would eat it when it molts right?

There are always bound to be exceptions, but in general, an oscar would eat a cray at just about any time (whether it has freshly-moulted or not)!
