Ok, I'm getting a little frustrated here. First, to be brutally honest, I was not doing water changes as religiously as I should have been. Shame on me!

About 10 days ago, I did a check and at that time my Ph was 6.0 (or lower), amonia 0 and nitrite 0...I do not have anything to test nitrates, but from what I hear, they were probably off the chart. I did a water change...50% give or take.

3 days later, my pH was at 6.5, amonia 0 and nitrites .5...I did another water change..about 40%.

4 days later (today), my pH is 7.6, amonia 0 and nitrites .25. Am I on the right track here. I want to add another BP and some tiger barbs and a couple clown loaches...is it safe or should I wait until the weekend and do another check...at what point is it ever safe.

Looking for advice here....HELP!!!!!

Just got off the phone with my LFS. They think the tank is going through another cycle. BTW..this is a 37 gal with a 5" parrot, a 5" irrodescent shark, 2 half dollar size angels and a red gourami.

Is it safe to add more fish?

Well, I would say that it would be best to wait untill the readings of your tank stabalize a little bit. Adding any more fish untill would chance them going thru more strees than they all ready are.
