Cucumber?

During a recent visit to a local pet shop i noticed a hoard of catfish, and a few angels, feeding happily on a chunk of cucumber. Is it just me or is this little unusual? Enlighten me as my little cory may be in for a treat!

Definitely not unusual. I think most of the bottom feeders would love a slice of cucumber from time to time. You just have to make sure not to leave it in there too long because it could foul the tank up.

yea my clown loaches went nuts when i put in a slice yesterday!

peas also -- just take off the skin of it and plop em in there. cichlids love peas without the skins. I do cucumber at least 1x a week.

And leaf lettuce ( but not iceburg) for veggy loving cichlids, no food value for the fish or us in iceburg lettuce.....Rich
