Well, what you consider abnormal fish are the kinds of species that are more difficult to care for. Your example of seahorses, and boxfish(octopus are invertabrates) are very challenging to keep. Seahorses require a species tank, little water movement, and two to three feedings of Mysis shrimp a day. Boxfish require a tank of more than 100 gallons and can potentially shed a toxic liquid into the aquarium when stressed!

If you plan on setting up a marine aquarium research a lot before you start and stick with easier maintenance fish. My recommendation would be to get a frogfish or lionfish. Both are easy to care for and are quite forgiving when it comes to water quality. A warning however is that both types of fish are venomous and you need to watch out when your hands are near the tank.

How much cash and space do you have? I think you'd get more fun for your money from a trigger, but realistically you want a 75
