I looking at the All-Glass corner tank for my home office (probably the 92 gallon).  The stand that All-Glass sells is the wrong color for my office.

I was hoping to find someone or some company out there who can make a custom stand for this tank preferably in a walnut color with book shelves below the tank.

Anyone have any thoughts of where I can find such a stand or who might be able to make one?

In my research I also saw a pentagon tank that would fit in a corner but it was acrylic rather than glass.  What are the pros and cons of acrylic vs glass.  I also have the same question regarding stands for the pentagon tank as I have above for the All- Glass.

Thanks.

Re: Custom Stands for Corner Tanks/Acrylic vs Glas

This particular person was posting on reefcentral and it appears that he does some work with custom stands and canopy.  Maybe he could help you out.

I believe this person advertises on Ebay also.  Not sure.  But it looks like a very high quality stand/hood.

Re: Custom Stands for Corner Tanks/Acrylic vs Glas

Concerning the pros and cons of acrylic.  Acrylic is usually more expensive but has a higher clarity than glass.  Acrylic however can scratch very easily and if you set up a tank such as a planted tank or even a saltwater reef tank, cleaning of the algae off you glass can leads to major scratches.
However, acrylic is light and easily setup.  If I had to do it again, I would probably opt for glass because it's much easier to clean and doesn't require a big surround brace like some acrylic tanks.  This brace might restrict on your lighting if you plan to keep a reef tank or saltwater tank.
