about a week ago i noticed what looked like a mushy coraline growth on my rocks. a week later... it looks like some one spread straw berry jam all over a new white carpet!!! i took the black light of which helped a little. i got a turkey baster out of the kitchen filled it with the tank water and blated it. it came of in a huge sheet i sucke it up and repeated until it was all gone. now it is all over!!! what do i do to get rid of it?

reduce the food supply for the cyano: check phosphates and nitrates as these are the usual suspects. also, overfeeding or not doing frequent water changes can contribute to the problem

Well cyano can fix their own nitrate, so by this point chasing nitrate levels is pretty pointless. Also the amount of cyano you can produce with a gram of phosphate is something ridiculous so controlling that is sort shutting the barn door after the horse.
Check salinity, pH, raise if necessary, more flow, lots of gravel hoovering.
