Cycling a 30 Gallon Tank

What does cycling mean? I've had the tank for 3 years now. I do about 50% water change at the same time I do a gravel vac (monthly) and 20% water changes weekly. Currently in the tank:

6 Black Skirt Tetras
2 Angelicus Botia Loaches

Soon to be joined by 2 Albino Aeneus Cory Cats *twirlysmi

Previously, what was in there was all over the map ... I've been learning a lot from members here ... but I'm wondering if cycling pertains to me?

Hey Albert, take a look at the stickies in the forums or the link in my signature has an explanation. Your tank is probably cycled if it's been 3 years, but you should definitely know what it means anyhow.
