Ok here's the deal. I have a 55 gallon setup w/ Leuleipis' and Marlaris' (spelling??) and a Tret. I had a Daffodil in there but he was way too aggressive to the other fish. So I took him out and he is sitting w/ some smaller Daffodils' unitl I can figure out what to do w/ them. My question is there enough room in a 20gallon long for a pair of the Daffodils' to survive peacefully and possibly breed?? I really want to keep him, but I don't want to limit him in a 20 gallon long if it is too small.

Thanks!!!

The correct spellings are (neolamprologus) leleupi and (julidochromis) marlieri - you got tret right though ! :)

Daffoldils are part of the brichardi complex and a regional colour morph of neolamprologus pulcher. I would say that the 20 long is about the bare minimum to keep a pair of those but it can be done successfully so long as it's a species only tank with plenty of rockwork and a sand or fine gravel substrate. You'll need a cave for them to spawn in and various hiding places in case the pair fall out!

If you're adding the male with various smaller daffodils be ready with a net, if he finds himself a mate the rest of them will not be tolerated. Go for it, most fishkeepers find brichardi/pulchers very rewarding.

See Froggy unlike you I researched to help this guy out rather than posting garbage.;)

Daffodils get about 3 inches, he may be alright for now, but if he bullies the other fish you may have to figure out what to do with him really fast!:(
