well...he's gone...slipped away himself...
no suffering...just quietly went to sleep...

when i started this 'hobby' i found it strange...
that people called fish 'pets'...
i had thought of that being dogs and cats and the like...
my male betta 'dago red' has taught me much...

i will never forget him and his ways...
he gave my tank a personality...
and he will be greatly missed...

Sorry to hear he did not make it. I hope you will consider getting another betta because they do lend great persona to the tank. Again i am sorry for your loss.

thanks guys...much app...

as for another one...i don't know...
i'm kinda scared to lose another...

i'm wondering if my community set-up isn't suitable...
the current is quite fast...
and the filter intake is pretty 'sucky' ...

maybe [for me anyhow] a betta is a solo deal...

on the bright side...and there has to be one...
now that the flame gouramis are gone...i get to buy new fish... :)

bettas really ARE solitary fish...they rarley EVER do well in a community setting...yes, i'm sure there are exceptions...but more of ten than not what happens here is the end result.

Try a betta in a small tank of his own...they have great personalities!!
i wish the lfs had told me that at the start...
saved me some heartache...
and red would still be mooching around ... :(
