Dark Splotches?

My L187b and L188a (at least that's my guess at their ID) Have dark splotches. The one just has small dark circles on his nose area, the other has random dark patches all over. At first I thought this may be from the tank being too cold as the heater had failed and I don't know how long it was before I noticed, but the water was freezing, but now they have been moved to a bigger tank with a temp of 81.5, and if anything the darkened areas are getting worse, not better.

They seem to be otherwise unaffected other than a few tattered fins, which I blame on the female Krib that is temperarily being housed with them.

Any idea of what this might be? Anything I should worry about? Thanks.

Here is a pic of the worse one, I'll keep trying to get the other one to pose for me LOL. His are perfect circles though, like cherios, and only on his nose.

Anyone? Any idea? I think I may have seen a little flashing, but I'm unsure if it was flashing or lashing out at the black neon that would NOT quit pestering him! LOL

If it is any help, none of the other fish in the tank (otos, tetras, d. gourami, etc...) are displaying any signs at all. Also, the one with the circles on his nose (who is apparently completely petrified of the camera) seems to be loosing the circles rapidly, he only has 2 left, although these 2 don't seem to be going anywhere.

This is really strange....

I thought so, but I figure there are so many species and I am no expert! LOL Now I REALLY wish I haden't lost the other one have to go back and try to find him another one.
