Dead fish, please help

Hi,

I have a 30G tank, I started with more fish but now I am left with :

1 tiger barb
4 fancy guppies
2 red wag platies
2 velvet swords

I lost 2 fancy guppies today, and 2 Tiger barbs yesterday(dead)

Most of them have ich since last 5 days, I have been treating the water with Rid Ich+(contains formaldehyde and a zinc-free chloride salt of malachite green.)
But I don't think it is working. I have been checking amonnia and nitrite levels everyday, ammonia is negligible and nitrite below .25

I don't what to do now, should I try some other medicine? I also raised the temperate to 82F as I read about it at a couple of forums.

Also, I have been doing 25% water change change everyday before putting in the medicine.

Please help!!!!!

Also, some of the fish have something like a white thread hanging to their stomach. I just noticed it, and it was not there yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you got some anchor worms on hangin on your fish , ( parisites ) . And if they are dropping like flys then something is really wrong . Try taking a water sample to your local pet store ( some do free testing ) and see if they can come up with anything . But it sounds like something is not right with your water quality if so many are dying .

it was all fine till i added more fish. It was not advisable but someone gave me fish and I don't know what to do with them. I will take the water sample today and see if sth. is wrong with it.
