Help,
We lost power for 29 hours a few days ago due to snow, and the room my tank is in dropped to 50 degrees. Sadly to say, my sharks did not survive this shock and I plan to replace them when my tank is back to normal. I am plannong on filing a claim against my home owners policy for this and some other related storm damage and need help getting a value for the six fish that I lost. I know what they cost when I bought them but that was over a year ago and their size alone should easily increase their value.
Pictured below are:

2 Bala Sharks
1 Red-Tailed Black Shark
1 Columbian/Catfish Shark
1 Pictus Catfish
1 Gold Nugget Pleco

Any advise would be appreciated.

sorry.....
After I got into fish, I started thinking about
power outages too... so I bought a portable
gas powered generator.....
If I lost all my fish, i would talking the hundreds
of dollars to replace them... and like you, mine
have grown too.....

sorry about your loss...maybe you could call a lfs and ask them what they would charge for each of the fish at the size yours were, tell them why you want the info and they should help you to put together an estimate of your fish's value

Sorry to hear that. I don't know you can claim against your homeowner insurance for pet loss since there's a different policy for pet. Anyway, good luck and let us know how it goes.
