Hey guys and girls,

ok, here is what I'm adding to my 29 gallon:

3 swordtails
3 dwarf rainbows

What I have now:

5 guppies
7 neon tetras

Quick question, would adding 5 black neon or 5 diamond tetras be pushing the limit?

Thanks!

Personally, I wouldn't see that as a problem since most of your fish on your list are small and low bioload as long as you keep up on maintenance (but I'm no expert here). Also, have you considered omitting the swords and instead getting more dwarf neon rainbows? Swords get relatively large (relative to the other fish in there) and are huge pigs in my experience. Anyways, either way sounds like your tank will be very colorful! :)

I agree...I think you'll be ok since the fish you've chosen stay pretty small, as long as you follow through with regular tank maintenance. If it was my tank I think I'd opt out of the swordtails or the rainbows and get your 5 tetras instead...and then add an algae eater or two (depending what you get...a couple of ottos or a pleco that stays under 5 inches)
