I recenty bought a gravel vac that attaches to your sink. It worked fine. Then I twisted the nut a little too tight and had to order a replacement piece for it. (The main piece that attaches to the sink, the hose, and has the twist bottom to switch between drain and fill). Anyways, the new peice seems to be defective. The sucking action doesnt work, instead it slowly pours water in the tank. The two pieces look identical. I did a test to make sure i wasnt mistaken. i held the old working peice to the sink, and set it to drain, and turned on the faucet. Sure enough, the water ran right through the bottom like it should. However with my replacement, it runs through the hose line a significvatn amount even set fully on drain. I just cant believe that such a simple product with two pieces that are identical can have a defect.

I am so frusturated because in preparation of my big cleanup, I scraped off weeks of brown, green, and a massive carpet of hair algae and was about to suck it all up. Now, it's going to float around my tank fouling the water most likely, until I can get another replacement!

sounds like you have a python, thats what i have, i never really understood how to use the thingto refill the tank, and to syphon it out id just give a quick suck on the other end to start the flow, if the peice is deffective, can you give it back and get a new one?
