ok got home from school today feed my fish put 5 new rummys into my 25 my mom brough them while i was at school only to find 1 dead cory in my 10 when i found him they was blood on his side deep red quite a bit and it looked like one of his eyes was missing also he had a stump of a tail i also remember someone eles with a dead cory and that one had no tail i pretty sure that something killed it so what eles could it be apart from the other cory? i dont think anything eles in there is cablebe of killing it and will the other be ok on its own i dont want to put another in only to find it dead thanks for help.

A mystery to be solved.. I dont think that the others would attack him( but others may have some idea) soooo what about him getting caught in the filter?

nope sorry that really cant have happened its a sponge one with no entrance but a tiny hole that he could never fit though im guessing the other cory i dont think that glow lights, harliquins or guppies did it any other ideas?

No im pretty certain that the other cory would have killed him.

so your saying the other one didnt do it there bobrob? if not what eles there was deffiently some blood on him...and will my other be ok on his own? the fish were pretty new about a week and there was already a few fish in there that could have done it.

most likely either the barbs or the loach.the fish could have died and then had been picked apart by other fish as well.all fish will snack on dead fish

no it was in the 10 gallon not the 25 there mike just harliquins glowlights guppies and the other cory as tankmates.

oh sorry didn't catch that about the 10 gal.is there anything the cory could have gashed itself on?i really don't think a fish did the damage to your cory

yeah i though that i was checking stuff about them and they can hurt themselfes on the gravel and stuff ill have a look.

I think he died of "natural causes" and then eaten by the other fish. Nothing else in there that would have killed him.
