Excuse me for being a cichlid newbie. This is the first time posting in the cichlid section, you'll daily see me in the livebearers section...
Anyway, just curious as to why my convict is digging a hole? I heard that this is mating behavior prior to dropping eggs. But my convict is alone... so why the hole? Do they do that anyway just showing that they're ready to breed? Do they do that when scared... etc..?
No prob with water param, 90G with 2 RBP, 2 oscars, an auratus, an jewel and another unknown cichlid. Which by the way I will soon post pics of. I'm trying to figure out what it is! It came with my feeder goldfish and the oscars and pacus won't eat him/her... he/she kinda became a part of the tank... lol. Matter of fact, I'll do that right now. Be back with another fish ID post!
