Digital thermometer question

Just got my first digital thermometer and was wondering if it should always be "on" or if you should only turn it on to check the temp.

I leave mine on all the time, the button batterys in them last a long time so i dont think you have anything to worry about

yeah I'd 2nd that...I have two and have had them on since I got them and haven't had to replace a battery yet, would have to look but I think I've had them for at least 6 months?

same here. and the batts are dirt cheap on ebay and some dollar stores have them.

I've had one going around a year and a half 24/7 it's still going like a champ.

These should be the only thermometer's allowed to be sold
