Do clown fish need a anemone to live?

Do ocellaris clown fish need a anemone to live? What kind of anemone would be good for a beginner?

No, they do not need an anemone. The best anemone for a beginner is none.

I agree, they don't need an anemone. Mine are very happy in some hairy mushrooms, but they don't even need corals.

Not at al,l just as posted above. An anemone is only really need for protection if there is a predator in the tank that could eat the clown but most people would not put their pets in this situation. The will host with other soft type corals anyhow.
