I was wondering if it was possible that my telescopic goldfish may have eaten gravel? He hasnt gone to the bathroom for 2 days and has eaten a few peas with epsom salt and a few pieces of brine shrimp. Unless he is eating his feces?? Do they do that?
he is in the isolation tank with the following meds:
parasite clear by jungle
trisulate.

he is looking much better from the other tread. His scales arent puffed anymore and he is swimming around vacuuming the bottom for food. His stomach does look swollen to me. Can he be blocked?
 :( *SICK*

if its blocked, there is nothing you can do about it, but wait.

The positive side, is that it is acting more normal, maybe it will be okay.

you mentioned that its scales aren't sticking out anymore. when scales stick out its usually because the fish has dropsey which also makes them appear bloated. I have never had a fish live through this desease.

goodluck with your goldfish.

Goldfish are known for picking stones up in there mouth ecspecially all those fancy types. He might have actually fought off dropsy (which is rare) or constipation which may be why his scales have gone back in. Most likely constipation. Not too many fish survive once having dropsy.

he has been eating all along...we call him Hoover because he is like a vacuum. I came home today and he has a very large poop hanging...so he is going!! Peas and epsom saly must have worked.
His scales are still a little puffed out but he is swimming around and is bouncing back so far :)))
thank you everyone for all your help. I have a good feeling he will make it
