Do goldfish eat snails?

My wife was just in petsmart and she wanted to get something for our goldfish tank.

She found some "cute" as she called it, snails. She went to buy them for our goldfish tank and the petsmart sales rep told her that goldfish will eat them! *GOLDFISH*


Is this true?

yep, I had some apple snails (or mystery snails) in with some goldfish. They ate a few of them.
