i have a 29 gallon w HOT Magnum Canister Filter, powerhead (enough for 30 gallons, but not oscillating, unfortunately), Sea Clone 100 protein skimmer on the way--i will be getting live rock--the live rock and the fish need air pumped into the water, right? do i just put the air stone hidden in the rocks? how many airstones?

you'll need a air pump for the protien skimmer anyways, but there was a whole discussion a few months back as to the value of airstones and bubble wands ect... in aerating your tanks, basically there not necessary to aerate it, the air bubble i believe do very little to put oxygen back into your tank, but i could be wrong, i suggest you go through the old threads and find it

You will not need an air pump for the seaclone, it comes with a powerhead. You also do not need a air pump and air stone. You have a filter, powerhead, and another on its way. I think that will provide enough aeration and water movement.
