Do I need an Airstone?

I am currently setting up my 29G tank. I will not have any live plants in it. Do I need an airstone or anything besides a filter and heater?

Nope.

Air in the water will come from the water/air exchange at the top of the tank.

An HOB filter that returns the water where the water breaks the surface of the water will also aid in oxygenating the water enough.

Bubbles are cool buyt mostly all show.
