Do used tanks hold up well when they sit in storage?

I found a 125 gallon tank with the glass canopies for $250, The thing is that it has been sitting empty in a storage unit for about 3 years. Is there a risk of it leaking by sitting that long without water or do you all think the silicone would be ok? I've never dealt with a tank that has been sitting and just wanted to ask some more knowledgeable people. Thanks in advance

I'd reseal it if it's been sitting a long time. If it has a good silicon bead already that is soft it should be ok. It's cheap and not hard to reseal it though if you have doubts it's better to be safe then sorry. I bought a used tank I should have resealed and didn't. It ended up leaking 30 gallons of salt water onto my carpet a few months after setting it up and electrocuted me when I stepped in the room.

A lot cheaper and a lot less work re-sealing it now instead of cleaning it up and repairing the damage later IMO
