Does and Don'ts of Ich

What should i do? i have ich and i don't know what to do. do you take out the pleco? what about this filter thing i hear? i don't know anything. i'm keeping all my fish in the tank and just doing the daily drops. is that wrong? the ich isn't clearing up.

Dont take the fish out, because if one fish has it, mostlikely the others will get it too.

The filter thing you're probably hearing about is that if you're medicating a tank you shouldn't have carbon in your filter...or the carbon will just take the medication out of the water before it gets a chance to make anyone better.

Usually its a good idea to follow the directions on the medication explicitly...and dose for twice as long. If it still isn't working then I think I would do a big water change and either try a new medication or try the salt & heat method.

Make sure you factor the shrimp into any medication choices. Some meds are not invert friendly. I used the heat/salt treatment to good results when one of my tanks got ich. Good luck!
