I got a gravity doser from santa, and I was wondering can I use it with my superbuffer? If so, how would I use it? I lose about 1 degree of dKH every 4 days.
tis but a dance between the two.......raise ca lower dkh.......you need a balance between the two. I am not sure if you can mix a ca solution and a buffer solution together to dose.......I just mix up a 5g jug of water with the appropriate amount of Seachem Reef Complete.......and this is dosed by drip into my sump......about a gallon a day....... makes the ca easy to maintain. The alk i use kents coral builder and add it every couple of days as I don't need to buff as the ph remains stable......so far this has been working fabulously for me.......then I do about a 15% wc once a month using Tropic marin pro reef. If I think about it I may add 1 drop of lugol's a month.....but not consistently.
Interesting....I also do not worry about my PH as it stays stable. I add the buffer only to raise alk. so the reef complete stuff just keeps your ca at the right level?
yes......and I add kent coral builder to raise the alk and only use super buffer if the ph is low......but personally it never is....I think I actually added buffer only once in 6 mos.
