my female guppy is "dragging her tail" when she swims. she carries it below her head, whereas she normally would have it level wit hher head. She also seems to be moving slower then normal (only darts around when provoked by the other fish) she also has been hanging out in the planted area of the fishtank. and i dont kno if its connceted but my male seems to have some bite marks taken out of his tail (im not to concered about that tho, he likes to play with my plati who is almost twice his size)
thanks, naomi

i don't want to put her in qt (bc i dont think anything is really wrong wit hher hopefully, cross my fingers) but she is having trouble getting to food (bc my male is a spaz when food is involved) so iwas contemplating puting her a breeding trap to seperate her so she can eat properly AND to keep the others from pestering her. do you think that would cause too much stress?

Dragging the tail over the gravel or just drooping backwards like you said? Does it seem she is too heavy to swim?

Putting her in a breeding trap wouldnt really stress her out unless she has little room to move and feels trapped and defensless.

no she is not dragging it along the gravel, she is actually mostly at the top of the aquarium, she doenst appear to be gasping tho. i guess it could be taht she feels too heavy. my dad (raised fish as a kid) said she looked bigger, but i really do NOT think she is pregnant. call it a gut feeling or wutever, i just dont think so. (dunno if tahts wut you were thinkin)

might not be worth it by now...

a few days ago i posted about my guppie. well shes gotten WAAAAY worse. she is swimming practically on her side w/ her tail hanging down so he is bent like a 'c'. she stays at the bottom scrounging around 4 food and im SURE shes not getting enough. i asked the people at my lfs, they said give it time, well its been time. my nitrate and nitrite were a lil high so i did a 25% water change yesterday to compensate..didnt check water because i was told to wait untill 2 days after change. i dont tnk shes ognna make it more then a a day or 2.
