Driftwood safe?

I just saw some wood that is meant fo reptile terreriums at my lfs and I was wondering it this is aquarium safe. I would think that it is but I just want to be safe because that is the only non-plastic wood that my lfs sells. Yes, but...

You should do yourself a favor and brush off any debris and then either boil it for an hour or three or leach it for a week or four. If you just drop it in the aquarium it should be "generally" safe, but will probably leach tannins and make your water look like weak tea. If you like that effect then great, some people love it, but if you don't then you should leach it in a tub for a few weeks or boil it for a few hours.

There are many articles floating around you can hunt down about successful aquarium logs.

Grape wood is aquarium safe.

Ok thanks, I was planning of soaking it for a few weeks and I've heard waterflow (airstone) helps leach tannins faster, I was just making sure that it wasn't some poisenous wood for aquariums!
