Hello eveyone,

Small question on sand...

what depth will 40lb of argonite be in a 48" X 15" tank?
???
I have been told that mixing Ultra Fine Marine White Sand and Sugarfine Aragonite will create the perfect grain size/mix for both bacteria and worms/fish to turn it over, what are your thoughts on this?

Do you USAers use the same pound as us (lb)?
just double checking! lol

Cheapest Live rock i can find in the UK is £175 for 44lb (20KG) anyone seen cheaper? seems very expensive here, maybe i could build a base layer of cheap dead rock, then the rest live? any thoughts?

40 lbs will give you about a 1" sandbed. You need at least 3-4" for a functional one. I can't comment on the rest. Here is a calculator to tell you how much sand you need to get a depth of a certain height.
