Dwarf cichlid alert in Dallas/Ft Worth area

Any lovers of dwarf cichlids in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area might want to check out The Fish Gallery on Greenville Avenue just north of the intersection with Park Lane. They've just gotten in some very nice Aequidens curviceps, some young Apistogramma caucatoides and (VERY hard to get) some Checkerboard Cichlids (Crenicara filamentosa).

No...I do NOT work for The Fish Gallery and I get no kickbacks! Just a heads up on some quality fish in the area.

Oh...and Boutique Pets on Garland Road has in some Checkerboards too...but I think they're Crenicara maculata...not filamentosa.

I've never heard anyone own a checkerboard cichlid or even seen it. I persume tht wd be great!

These little fish (Checkerboard Cichlids) are true gems....peaceful and colorful....and SMALL!! There is some debate about the scientific name....I've always called them Crenicara but apparently the generic name has been changed to Dicrossus. Here's a link to a picture of a male in full color:
