Recently I noticed a white spot on my male dwarf gouramis head. On closer inspection, it looks like there are several scales missing, but everything I've read about this sort of thing says the skin is red and irritated, when his is just white.
Is this some sort of infection that I need to medicate him for or will it heal on it's own? I've never seen any agression between the fish in the tank so I don't have any idea what caused it.
Also, if I have to medicate him, is it safe to have him in an unfiltered large bowl/vase for the duration of it? I don't have any spare tanks and I'd like to avoid medicating the whole thing.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me!
