i've got a Neon Blue dwarf gourami.

his name is either piggy, fatty or tubby depending on the day :D
mostly cuz he tries to eat ALL the fish food at once!

he's pretty cool though, but has a tendancy to chase my Emerald Cory away from his food sometimes!

I currently have two male dwarfs (yes i know) and they always used to be chasing each other but now they have settled down and stick to opposite ends of the tank with the odd chase when they get close to each other.
And although they are almost the same size you always seem to get a dominant one and a shy one, that goes for someother fish too.
I have a pearl aswell but he seems pretty indifferent to them-guess his size stops them from hassling him.

I love all gouramis!!*celebrate

I have two sunset honey gouramis. Nice fish. One male has really colored up and turned bright red with a black tank while the other has stayed his usual silvery red. The dominant one claims a third of my 60 gallon tank (the grassy jungle third) and has built about four bubble nests which unfortunately get destroyed every time I change the water. The other male has become pretty shy like mark says and just spends his time exploring all over the other side of the tank. I'm trying to get a hold of a female so they can put the bubble nest to use but I haven't gotten to the lfs yet. Great fish and I highly recommend them. Get two or three for a larger tank like mine or just a pair in a smaller one.

I have a male red fire gourami in a 6g with 3 palaetus cories and 2 otos. He doesn't seem to bother the other fish. I think he is a nice addition to my 6g.

I think he is a really cool fish. I wasn't really interested in gouramis until I saw the "red fire" gourami. Then I just had to have one. It's probably just a honey gourami or something, but red fire sounds cooler.

I just got a dwarf powder blue for my 18g tank. He's still settling in, and I can' wait for his colors to get to their max (although he looks pretty good now).

I heard dwarf gouramis are less aggressive than others. Does anyone know if this is true? We had four opaline gouramis in a 65g, but the dominant one made sure he was the only one to stay in there. We don't have anywhere local that sells females, only males :(

Dwarf gouramis are less aggressive than the full size gouramis. I had a powder blue in a 10g and he left everything alone. Thats my only experience with then but from what I have heard they will leave everything else alone except another gourami.

I have two: Ichle Me and Pickle Me. They were both in the 29, but Pickle Me became a horny bastard and got to territorial. Ichle me is now in the 10g.

Here is Ichle Me:

Unfortunately, I do not have a good pick of Pickle Me, but you can see them both here:

Out of ignornace, I bought two dwarf blue males and a male dwarf flame to cycle my 38 gallon tank with. We are strongly considering taking one of the blues back to the lfs and trading for another variety until cycling is complete. They are doing great except for the excessive agression of the one. Likes to pick on the flame. Wish I'd know about this site two weeks ago when we started our tank!
