a couple of months ago, i purchased 4 dwarf gouramis, 3 female, 1 male, after about a month the male developed what looked like WOUNDS on his body, like he had been thrown against something, or was attacked by something. then he died. this happened to two of the females one by one all with the same reult. the final dwarf has no wounds and looks fine. but i would love to know what this was. sorry i could not get a picture. the inhabitants of the tank are in my sig in the 20 gallon high. any ideas? and yes the tank has been established for over a yr now, and yes i checked the water stats they were and are fine

The gourami that's left kicked the crap out of the three that died.
In truth, they probably all contributed to each others' deaths, but the remaining one was likely the bulliest of the bunch.

OVERSTOCKED? this tank with the exception of the DWARF gouramis, has been set up and established for ages. with ideal water params, the last thing that i introduced was the spotted raphaels and that was sveral months ago. Remeber everything in there is small, that raphs will be moved to the 55 gallon. and so will probably the zebras. Thanks for the info on the dwarfs i wasnt aware that they were agressive to each other.

they are all small which is a plus... but in a 20 gallon that is not really big for all the schools of fish, perhaps it worked out but i wouldn't add anything to the 20 gallon since it has that many small fish there. Gourmais are bigger and aggressive for the tank. I have two in my tank and they bully eachother once in a while, so it is tricky i think with them. Some get along as a pair others dont.
