dwarf loaches

I have a buddy who's wondering and considering purchasing clown loaches, but i would like to know if there is a dwarf species and if it would be compatible in a 20-30 gallon tank.
he claims he has seen them before

Do they exist?

There is a Dwarf Loach, Botia sidthimunki that generally stays at about 2 1/2 inches in the aquarium (though they can get over 4 inches). There are other loaches that could be considered, though they're not dwarf. The Yo-Yo Loach, Botia almorhae, the Stiped Loach, Botia striata, and the Skunk Loach, Botia morleti all stay considerably smaller than the Clown Loach.

they are cool, ive never seen any here or they would have been in my tank hehehe.

Apparently they are very rare, almost to the point of extinction these days. I am not sure if anyone is importing them these days, although I did see some offered on aquabid a while back.

I think yo-yo loaches are your best bet for size, cost and availability.
