Dwarf Puffers 3 years old with color changes

Hi All. I am new to this site. So far I have spent hours reading and loving every minute.

My question is: I have 2 dwarf puffers in a 65 gallon tank, they are about 3 years old. Their bellies have just started to change from white to grey spots and then back and forth between white and grey. I am not sure what is up. They seem to still be eating well. Any ideas from anyone?

Are you sure they're dwarf puffers? Dwarf puffers have yellow/beige colored bellies.

It sounds to me like you might have green spotted puffers that are suffering in some way. What size are the fish now?

How big are they? Sounds like gsp's to me too, and if they are three years old then they should definitely be in at least brackish water, if not marine. Check out this site to determine which puffer you have Welcome to the Puffer List, or if you could post a pic that would help too.
