Dwarfs in community tank?

Have a well planted 55 gallon community tank (including floating plants).

4 x giant danios
5 x platys
8 x serpae tetras
4 x hatchets
3 x corys
2 x otos

My wife has taken a liking to dwarf gourami. A couple of questions.......

1. Anyone see any issues with adding two dwarf gourami?

2. Would two males work? or would we be better off with a male and a female?

i had a pair of male dwarfs in a 29 gal without problems but it wasnt as highly stocked as yours...personally i dont think it will be a problem esp. b/c you do not have any real aggressive fish in there right now but someone else might disagree...

gouramis do have a little agressive streek, just depends on the disposition of the fish itself, you should be ok putting a few in, expect them to chase each other, or establish a pecking order.
